Summer project: Film production
Our summer project film production team will work closely with the drama and creative movement team. Participants will learn to manage time, prioritise tasks, adapt to changing environments, and communicate clearly. In other words, they will learn skills to prepare them for work in any field.
2019 Summer Project
Summer camp is out, summer projects are in!
We’re taking a more focused approach to this year’s summer workshops, offering a collaborative project aimed at giving promising young artists the chance to develop their skills, and experience what it’s like collaborating with artists of different skill sets in real life!
Communicating both face-to-face and in writing, participants across all 4 teams will work together to conceptualise, write, design, animate, act and film a story—however, the point of our project is not the final outcome.
This summer is all about process. In other words, your kids will learn how to engage more deeply with the present, with an understanding that the only thing we truly have control over is our attitude, mindset and actions.
If our film does not work out how we hoped, will that make our journey any less meaningful? No, because in addition to developing their craft and growing as an artist, your kids will also learn how to:
- Communicate effectively;
- Work well with others;
- Overcome barriers;
- Give and respond to feedback, constructively;
- Manage conflict.
These invaluable skills will help them build stronger relationships, increase their ability to handle the stress, and make them more employable later in life.
