VAPA scholarship eligibility and criteria

Read below to learn about our scholarship eligibility and criteria.  To apply, first check to make sure you meet the requirements, then click on the button to complete the application form.

Scholarship eligibility requirements

To be considered for one of VAPA’s scholarships, you must be:

  1. A legal citizen of Vietnam
  2. Living in or around Hoi An
  3. Between 4 and 16 years of age
  4. Experiencing economic hardship

VAPA strives to ensure equal access to opportunities, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, religion, minority group status or disability. For that reason, we encourage people from marginalised groups, as well as with those living with disability, to apply.

Furthermore, our selection process takes into account barriers to participation faced by such people. So, if you or the person you are nominating face such barriers, do not let it stop you from completing the application process. That is to say we will make every effort to help you overcome them.


Selection criteria

Recipients of the Mischewski Award receive a dance scholarship offering 20 hours of private dance classes with Ms Kate, free of charge.

To be successful, you must:

  • Show passion and commitment to your development as a dancer.
  • Prove your ability to be tolerant and inclusive.
  • Show above average potential for your age.

To apply for this award, first fill out the application form. You must then submit a video that shows your skill and potential. If successful, you will be invited to attend an interview.

Once you have submitted the form, further details about your video submission will be provided via email. If submitting a video poses challenges for you, please let us know so we can make other arrangements.

Flyer for songbird award for aspiring vocalists in Hoi AnSongbird Award for Aspiring Young Vocalists

Recipients of the Songbird Award receive a music scholarship offering 20 hours of private singing classes with Ms Kate, free of charge.

To be successful, you must:

  • Show passion and commitment to your development as a singer.
  • Prove your ability to be tolerant and inclusive.
  • Show above average potential for your age.

To apply for this award, first fill out the application form. You must then submit a video that shows your skill and potential. If successful, you will be invited to attend an interview.

Kate Elisabeth Award for Women in Leadership 

Recipients of the Kate Elisabeth Award receive a scholarship offering 20 hours of creative classes and leadership mentoring with Ms Kate, free of charge.

To be successful, you must:

  • Show passion and commitment to your artistic and personal development.
  • Demonstrate above average creative potential.
  • Show above average potential in your ability to lead.
  • Prove your ability to be tolerant and inclusive.

To apply for this award, first fill out the application form. You must then submit a video that shows your skill and potential. If successful, you will be invited to attend an interview.

Once you have submitted the form, further details about your video submission will be provided via email. If submitting a video poses challenges for you, please let us know so we can make other arrangements.
